First News Update of 1998
Well, good thing I didn't promise a regular monthly
update! Christmas - yet again - has come and gone and here we are in the year of
1998.
Don't you think time is speeding up? Many people do, and I certainly feel
that way. Days shoot by without much being accomplished, and months can pass in
a flash. I seem to look at the clock, and then again and an hour has passed! I
do wonder what would be the result if several people doing different things were
locked into a windowless room without clocks or watches, then eventually asked
what they perceived the time to be? I feel sure they would be very much short of
the mark.
What are your feelings on time speeding up? One Christian put it to me in a
very helpful way - she was talking about both time and endtimes events. She said
that with an audio cassette, towards the end of the tape one spool seems to be
going much faster, though the tape speed is constant. (I know there's scientific
reason for that - but we are talking perceptions here!) Towards the end of the
"tape" of history, things seem to be going faster all the while.
There's already been a sighting of the first hot-cross-buns in the shops.
My! It'll soon be Easter. (The Christmas and Easter festivals are a pet gripe of
mine, so don't get me started on that. I will try to restrain myself, except to
say that this Christmas more and more discerning believers woke up to the
implications of that unique time of the year. Whereas in the past I kept my
beliefs to myself, this year I felt it was important to begin making a stand
against this pagan festival, for reasons that I will try to explain below.)
Little did I know that when I withdrew, on the Lord's instructions, from the
more public and busy parts of my ministry (i.e., the newsletter, speaking
engagements, travel, conferences etc) that I would be NEARLY as busy just trying
to keep up with personal e-mail, reading what comes off the internet, and
writing for this web page.
Now that my "sabbatical" year is about over (the last newsletter
was circulated in January 1997) I am wondering what the Lord has for me, and for
us all, in 1998.
When the concept of the sabbatical came up, in 1997, I learned all I could
about it from the Bible. What struck me most was that the people were to have
faith that what they had previously sowed would provide for all their needs
during the year of resting.
God has been faithful to His word. There has been no lack of "food";
for what had already been sown through this and other ministries has been
sufficient to feed all those who came looking, and there have been no completely
NEW subjects to cover. All the apostasy of this year is but a progression from
the errors already covered in earlier articles.
The second aspect of the sabbatical year that struck me was - it was the
year leading up to the Jubilee, an important year in God's calendar (and a
concept much abused by the new-agers and globalists). The people of God were
told to "stop planting" in the year BEFORE the Jubilee - and isn't it
strange that many watchman ministries have either folded, been run down, or are
merely "marking time" now, ahead of the 50th year of the
State of Israel. (And a lot of people seem to have died in 1997, too, including
of course John Wimber, Princess Diana, and Mother Teresa - a comment on that
will follow shortly.)
Perhaps we always begin a year hopefully, but for some reason I'm clinging
to the hope that 1998 will see the end of the tunnel for weary Christians. Many
of us are oppressed, troubled, lacking fellowship, having problems and sensing
in every way that our faith is being tried.
I have just been shown a prophecy about the situation of the Church, and our
future, that I believe I should share with you. It was given at the beginning
of the Toronto outpouring to a well-known minister in the UK, David Noakes.
Although it was given in 1994, it has only recently been shared publicly, at a
conference given by Moriel Ministries, in November of 1997. I have reservations
about some aspects of what was said in the introduction, but I believe the
prophecy itself is from the Lord. It confirms much of what I and others have
been seeing and experiencing, and also points the way forward. It may encourage
you, so if you'd like to see it, click here.
There is a definite move (in the UK at least) to set up safe-houses, or "places
of refuge". Naturally, I can't tell you where these are, but trust me -
they exist. God has been going before us, and providing in miraculous ways. I
don't fully understand His plan, but when the time comes, there will be places
of safety, comfort, protection and peace for those who know and love the Lord.
The Lord warned us that 1997 would be a time of trial and preparation, and
like a symbolic crossing of the Jordan. We would have to go through the waters,
in faith, but on the other bank would be (yes, more battles!) but the promise of
refreshed ministry, establishment, purpose and protection in a new way. Though
I don't expect the battles to get easier - in some ways tougher - nor the
trials to ease (for we are heading into tribulation like never before) there's
a promise that genuine believers who have trusted and hung on this far will go
through to glory. We may also begin in 1998 to move in the callings that we have
received from the Lord.
Has it ever occurred to you that important events involving Israel
(especially her deliverance) and also to some extent the Church, are happening
at timed intervals? I don't believe this is coincidence.

It cannot be denied that the State of Israel has come into its jubilee year.
It is now 50 years since the UN declaration on Israel, leading to its
establishment as a State, in May 1948. This alone is noteworthy.
Psalm 90 appears to have a reference to the time span allotted to Israel in
its fallen condition:
"The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by
reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and
sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away." Ps 90:10
From the Balfour Declaration in 1917 which permitted the Jews to return to
their land, to the turning point of 1987 were the three-score and ten years, and
the ten following have indeed been "labour and sorrow" for Israel.
It has been pointed out that the number 1998 is composed of 3 x 666.
1998 also has three Friday the 13ths.
God told us to be wise, and to understand the signs of the times. That
doesn't mean we see everything clearly as in a vision, or a revelation. No,
discerning people simply keep their eyes on the word of God, and their ears to
the ground, and it all adds up eventually.
1997 was supposed to be the year of revival. Many restoration fellowships
were expecting a full-blown, nation-shattering time of revival to begin at
mid-year. This date was arrived at by counting a prophetic three-and-a-half
years from the Toronto outpouring which they believed was the first shower of
blessing that would lead to a global spiritual awakening.
Gerald Coates (Pioneer Network) has been pushing the case for national
revival more than most, and seems undeterred by the lack of evidence. (He was
pictured on the front cover of "Christianity" magazine glorying in the
revival that he claims is already here!)
Coates was instrumental in accepting and circulating a "prophecy"
that the death of Diana was a sign of impending revival. It linked the national
outpouring of emotion over Diana's death to a similar national spiritual hunger
for God. The prophecy appeared in magazines, on web pages, and even in the more
reputable Christian periodicals.
The really sinister thing about this prophecy is that, like many others
coming from the Toronto/Restoration movements, it has a grain of truth but
perverted and twisted to the opposite meaning. People ARE hungering for
spiritual reality, but not necessarily that of Truth and Christian salvation.
People ARE desperate for meaning in their lives, and seeking for empowerment and
fulfilment. But they are turning to Buddhism, occultism, or even the false
manifestations of the Toronto Blessing. They are not submitting themselves to
the Father God.
The new-age messiah "Maitreya" promoted by Benjamin Crème,
has also seen the potential for a national awakening, after witnessing the
scenes of grief over Diana. Like Gerald Coates, he compared this to a national
spiritual hunger, where people reach out to something for comfort and
illumination. Of course, his interpretation is that the spiritual hunger will be
met by an "over-shadowing" of goodwill, joy and peace that will lead
to a new age of enlightenment. How different is this idea to the Restoration
one?

It is traditional at this time of year to offer Christmas Greetings (or
Greatings, as one web site had it - the web site owned by an English Higher
Education Body)
And before you write to me about MY spelling, you have to remember that I'm
that rare breed, the English Grammar-School educated girl, English as opposed to
American, so I don't spell CENTRE as center, or travelling as TRAVELING, etc
etc. Nor do I stop writing "momentarily" except to go to the LOO, not
the bathroom or ladies room.
[I remember hearing one personality on the radio recounting his trip to
America, which involved a lay-over in New York. On approach, the pilot announced
"we will be landing at New York momentarily" and the English people
began hurriedly to gather their bags and prepare to rush off the plane, as it
was clearly going to take off again almost as soon as it had landed!!]
On the subject of spelling, the latest move in the global dumbing-down
process is to abandon the National Curriculum so hard-won by the Tories when
they were in power. It was a fight-to-the-death with the liberal teachers to get
the National Curriculum on line, but this represented at least a token effort
to introduce some genuine content to the subjects taught in our schools, and to
eliminate a lot of left-wing new-age politically correct nonsense.
Ever since, the teachers have been bellyaching about the oppression of
having to teach real subjects, and even (gasp) having their performance tested.
Standards have continued to drop, and the basics (reading, writing, and maths)
have been consistently eroded by "child-centred" non traditional,
touchy-feely teaching methods.
Even ordinary people are beginning to notice that pupils are not being
challenged intellectually and are bunking off through boredom; exams are getting
easier; Universities can no longer demand excellence in their students; many
youngsters do not know how to study, cannot read or write properly and are
starting their adult life crippled in almost every field. Adding two figures
without a calculator is now impossible for many young people. Although liberal
teaching methods have been in existence since the Sixties, the results (in a
whole generation of under-achievers) are only now beginning to make their
presence known.
Despite this, teachers will not allow the truth to be told. They are hiding
the real results of their philosophy, correctly perceiving that there would be a
national outcry if the truth got out.
Instead, they protect themselves, and persecute anyone who disagrees.
Traditional teaching methods are thrown out of the classroom, older headteachers
are retired and any bolshy traditionalists (like Christian teachers) are
harrassed, persecuted and even fired on trumped-up charges. Teachers have such a
strong Union lobby that the Government is afraid to take steps to stop the rot.
And now we have an Education Secretary, David Blunkett, who speaks with divided
tongue. On the one hand he spouts the "new-Labour" ideal of giving
children a proper education, and on the other hand seems to work hand-in-hand
with the liberals.
Now, as I said, the National Curriculum is to be almost entirely sidelined,
and teachers are once again to be allowed to teach (preach??) any nonsense that
they happen to believe. The supposed reasoning behind this move by the
Government, is that teachers have been so hampered and busy teaching the
requirements of the Curriculum that they have had no time left to concentrate on
the basics.
This reasoning is plain daft. Are we to assume that, if pupils are taught to
read and write, there is no time left to teach them anything else - history,
geography, science and so forth. It never was the case in my school day, nor in
other countries. So why here?
The truth is, teachers CANNOT teach grammar, spelling, literacy, arithmetic,
because they don't know how! Nor do they know how to use traditional phonics
for reading practise.
The classroom time is not wasted on teaching. Oh no. It's wasted on settling
pupils into free-form environments, trying to stop them chatting, moving from
desk to desk dealing with small groups individually. It's wasted giving out
materials for the endless amount of "craft work", and collecting them
afterwards, holding philosophical discussions in order to impart new-age
doctrines, organising special fun-events and outings, and filling in every spare
moment with non-educational techniques like relaxation, guided imagery and the
like.
Time is wasted on administration, paperwork, staff meetings, organisation,
and moving from classroom to classroom between lessons. Time is wasted having to
make special arrangements for "remedial" work, and cater for "ethnic
minorities" and those with "special needs". Time is wasted on
almost anything BUT teaching the whole class genuine subject matter.
With the teachers now free once more to teach anything they like, what will
happen to religious instruction, reading, writing and maths? Well, it doesn't
take a Mensa candidate to work that out.
On the subject of spelling, did you wince, as I did, when watching the TV
programme "Home Front" as their resident decorator stuck a cardboard
sign labelled "farey" on the top of her home-made "tree"? (I
think she must have meant "fairy").
This weird cardboard cut-out "tree" was hung with plastic cutlery
and painted turquoise and pink. Another presenter on the programme eschewed the
traditional greenery and told us how to make a "pagan greenery ball".
Well, what do you expect - for the week we "celebrate" at the end of
the year has almost nothing to do with Christianity and almost everything to do
with pagan worship and the ancient gods!

Some people have written asking my opinions of this festival - and although
I DO have personal beliefs, I have been wary of sharing them openly. I believe
the decision about how to handle the Christmas period is one we all reach by
inward enlightenment from God, and a personal decision before Him.
It is interesting to me, however, to watch more and more Christians jumping
off the Xmas bandwagon. I believe this is a move of God to get us to think
deeply about the implications of this season, and what it could mean in the
future.
You see, I have always thought Christmas is a perfect time for the
appearance, or revelation, of A, or THE false christ. Why? Because most of the
world believes December 25th is the birthday of Christ, most
churches reinforce that belief with carol services and what have you, and
therefore few people would be surprised if "christ came back"
according to their understanding at that time. However, actually December 25th
is the birthday of the sun-god who in pagan times was the antitype of Christ.
It's the season for the birth of that special "baby" who saves the
world. Of course, we know that Jesus was born as a baby the first time, but
will return as glorified Lord. However, much of the world, and large parts of
the Church are now speaking about another "birth" The teaching
various, but the christianised version goes something like this: just as Mary
submitted herself to the Spirit and was impregnated with the child who would be
born as ruler of the nations, so now a Corporate Mary, the Bride of Christ will
submit to the power of the Spirit outpoured in the endtimes, and become
impregnated with and give birth to the Corporate Manchild (the manifested sons
of God) who will be Ruler at the end of history. This New Man will be the
embodiment and new incarnation of Christ.
Needless to say, this is heresy and nothing of the kind will come to pass.
HOWEVER, it's entirely possible that a group of "anointed" individuals
will see themselves as the New Man, and seek to enforce their rulership over
the nations, with satan's help. It greatly helps this satanic cause that first
birth is perceived (wrongly) as a Christmas festival in December. It creates
confusion, false expectation, and doubt.
The day and season is special to the occult world. It speaks of new
beginnings, the new life of Spring, and the celebration of the sun as god. It's
also the perfect season for promoting the world's concept of goodwill and what
the satirical papers call "lurve". That is "luv" as opposed
to genuine scriptural love.
At the turn of the year, it has been customary for the old gods to give way
to the young. The sun-god of Rome whose orb had died away to its shortest cycle
in Winter, turned the corner of the new year at the Winter Solstice, around the
22nd of December. The Winter gives way to Spring. The cold chill,
ice and snow, melts into fertility and new life. This has always been a metaphor
for the coming messiah, who will turn the world back to Eden and deliver us
from all that harms us and our environment.
The old Grim Reaper with his sickle - the vision of death - gives over the
year to the little baby, epitomised in the New Year cherubs, the christ-child in
the crib, and the children whose eyes twinkle in the tree lights as they open
their presents. It is a time of new birth, for the year, for the gods, for the
Age, and for the false christ.
It's also a time of celebration, joy, partying and goodwill. The world calls
this "the christmas spirit", and woe betide anyone who fails to be
cheerful, giving and merry at that time. The world looks for a kind of love at
the Christmas season, and this I believe will lead to a snare.
There's a push to reinterpret God as merely "luv" and to skate
over any other aspects of His Being. If God is "luv" then he accepts
anybody and anything. He is everybody's perfect Granddad, dandling the
Christians on his knee, and providing anything they ask for. There is no penalty
for sin, nor is there a danger of being rejected by this God-of-luv. Such an
image is so far removed from the biblical God that it is blasphemous.
The "god" who actually accepts anything and anyone is Lucifer, and
the one law of Satanism is "do what you will".
Now this philosophy has been extended to the Church. Some young Christians
(although, are they truly saved??) no longer fear judgement either from God or
their elders, and they take drugs, sleep around, live together without marriage,
have illegitimate children, indulge in homosexuality, hard drinking, satanic
rock music, pornography - you name it! Even the elders are committing such sins,
and getting away with it, because "we must all love one another".
People are afraid of being judgmental so they refrain from correction.
Now the theology is changing, too, to suit the mood of this new Church. It
is becoming old-fashioned to see salvation in terms of justification of sin, and
a substitutionary sacrifice being necessary to redeem us from the sin-nature.
The new theology, designed to incorporate all people into one global
religious group, is of a loving father-figure who provides, cares for us, and
relates to us intimately (thus fulfilling our need for emotional "lurve")
but who does not interfere in our lives. This ever-loving father-figure does not
require us to be walking in righteousness, or even if He does, is consistently
understanding and forgiving towards our faults, and so the sin-nature is not
eliminated but glossed over by a sentimental attitude of exoneration.
This, folks, is NOT the biblical gospel - and will save no-one from endless
torment in hell. That is why we must fight it with all our being.

The world interprets the phrase "goodwill to all men" to mean that
God loves everyone and will condemn no one. How wrong they are!
It may be news to you, and it's certainly a shock to many in the world, but
God does NOT love everyone, regardless. How saddened I am when I see evangelists
- many of them totally genuine and full of zeal - standing out on the streets
shouting at passers-by "God loves you, Jesus loves you!"
Well, in some senses that is true, but it's not a gospel message designed to
bring repentance.
God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son - but the way to
receive Jesus is plain. It's not a matter of feeling some kind of sentimental "lurve"
and going gooey because "god-loves-me"; but of coming under
conviction that the way you are living is WRONG, SINFUL AND DOOMED TO
DESTRUCTION.
In your sinful state, you are destined to Hell, whether God loves you or
not. God's love towards the unredeemed is a practical plan of salvation, one
that causes you to repent and believe. That is your only hope.
When I watch those evangelists shouting out "Jesus loves you and has a
wonderful plan for your life", I see the passers-by react with total
indifference. They seem to be thinking "Of course God loves me. What
sort of news is this! OK, I did feel some pangs of conscience yesterday when I
ripped off that old lady's purse to pay for my drugs, but God is a forgiving,
loving father, and God understands my needs, and God does love me. Thanks for
the reassurance, friend!" So they walk on by in their sin, and never
consider that at the end of their lives, they will be going to hell.
God may love the sinners (and I could even dispute that, biblically) but he
certainly HATES sin, which is why he endured the loss of His Beloved Son in such
a painful death.Without the death of God the Son, there would have been no
way to atone for man's sin. His blood HAD to be shed. What does that tell
you about God? Yes, that he loved you enough to send His Son to save you. But
also, that he hated sin enough to die in the effort to redeem us from its
stranglehold. Are we therefore to receive God and continue in sin? As Paul says,
GOD FORBID that we should.
And, does God always have "goodwill" towards all men? The
new-agers and large parts of the Church would like you to believe so. Just keep
living your life, and God loves you regardless?? NO, NO, NO! "God judgeth
the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day." Ps
7:11
What the world understands by "goodwill to all men" is a
sentimentalised ideal that does not appear in the Bible. God's goodness,
although sent to all, is available on a permanent basis ONLY to those who repent
and are reconciled to God through Christ. As Matthew Henry observes:
"Here was the peace proclaimed with great solemnity; whoever will,
let them come and take the benefit of it. It is on earth peace, to men of
good-will (so some copies read it),; to men who have a good-will to God, and are
willing to be reconciled; or to men whom God has a good-will to, though vessels
of his mercy" (from Matthew Henry's Commentary)
The fact remains, God does not have "goodwill" in the human sense
towards those who persist in sin, whether saved or not. Even more so, God does
not "lurve" those who thwart His purposes, worship idols, disobey His
commands, and reject His offer of salvation. God, even in the New Testament era
of grace and forgiveness, HATES evil, and ultimately that means he rejects those
who practise it.
So God can hate as well as love! If your spouse were dying of cancer,
wouldn't you hate that cancer? God hates everything that destroys His creation,
man and woman. Sin is a cancer that eats away and destroys and murders millions,
and God HATES it passionately.
The Old Testament saints held everything contrary to God's Law to be
hateful, and the Bible records their hatred thus:
Ps 139:21-22: Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate thee? and am not
I grieved with those that rise up against thee? I hate them with perfect
hatred: I count them mine enemies.
Ps 31:5-6: Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O LORD
God of truth. I have hated them that regard lying vanities: but I trust
in the LORD.
If we have established that the new theology is about universal "lurve",
no matter what, what harm could it do, and where might such thinking lead?
Well, there's a "spirit of love" who is actually satan in
disguise, the antichrist spirit if you will. Many people, including Christians,
mistake him for Jesus, and almost literally jump into bed with him. Shocked you
may be, but report after report is coming in of Christians having erotic
visions, and even orgasms after encountering this spirit of "lurve".
This came from a New Wine bulletin board:
On the question of the emasculation of the eunuch, I had an interesting
experience whilst worshiping recently: I had a vision that showed me "smooching"
with God. I was consumed with what I could only describe as lust for Him in the
same way a husband or wife can be consumed with lust for their partner.
Another woman had a vision of being stripped naked and washed all over by a
giggly "Jesus". I suspect this sort of thing is common amongst those
who have received the "spirit of luv" but not everybody speaks of such
things openly.
Many now think that God is such a provider that he's just hanging around
waiting to "love all over them" as the phrase goes, and so he gives
them a father/mother/lover on tap just to service their needs for emotional
satisfaction and security.
What such people need to do is get out of nappies (diapers), grow up and
start acting like adults. Inward-looking emotional "lurve" and
self-satisfaction is not what God is all about!

The new-agers have promised that, when the time is right, a tremendous wave
of goodwill will smother every person on the planet. This will result in a
change of mind and heart for everyone. Judgmental attitudes will be forgotten,
along with distinctions between good and evil, and threats of eternal damnation
will cease. We will all experience total acceptance, and thus be satisfied.
This promise seems to predict an escalation of the activities of the spirit
of love. When he's found enough Christians willing to pass him on, body-to-body,
he will be in a position of majority, ready to infect everyone regardless of
their creed or previous convictions.
And this is where Christmas comes in. Christmas is the perfect time for just
such a move as this, when all the world - even pagan areas - recognises that we
are a global family, and need to love one another. Their hearts will be open to
a new Santa Claus, a new "king-of-misrule" to come and lead them.
The one day (December 25th) that we are supposed to be
remembering as the birth of the Christ child has in this century turned into a
week-long revelry that is akin to Saturnalia. The week-long "Saturnalia"
was a time for rejoicing, giving presents, eating, drinking and making merry.
If you want to picture the god of this festival, Saturn (in Greece known as
Chronos), then look no further than the Spirit of Christmas Present as portrayed
by Charles Dickens - a jolly, fat, red-cheeked man holding a horn of plenty,
crowned with winter greenery, drinking wine, and encouraging all to PARTY.
The new-age messiah of Benjamin Crème, spoken of earlier, claims to
be the fulfilment of every coming lord, of every religion. However,
significantly, he's taken the name "Maitreya" which is the future
Buddhist messiah. This figure is titled "King of Righteousness" and "Merciful
One". He is fat, jolly and portrayed as laughing. He is known as "The
Laughing Buddha". A better picture of Father Christmas you could not
hope to find. It makes me even more suspicious about the true origins of the
"spirit of laughter" now in the churches.
Benjamin Crème recently announced that the "public ministry"
of this secretive Maitreya is about to begin. But we have heard this many times
before, and he's already missed the deadline for the event. I don't rate
Maitreya very highly on the list of false christs, but it's certain that one day
a believable contender will arise.
The stage is set for the return of the "christ" and since he will
come shrouded in goodwill and "lurve" for all men, who will deny him?
Only those who know the TRUE Christ and still believe in biblical redemption!
If you need to be affirmed, petted, comforted and led by an authority
figure, then you are in danger today! You have an open door to accept the spirit
of love when he arrives.
God has been hardening up his people, so they can stand on their own feet.
He has been knocking at the foundational problems we all have, like feelings of
rejection, need for attention, problems with lust, dependence on material things
and people. He's been putting us through spiritual bootcamp where the things of
the world become less and less important, and our trust in people has
diminished. He's challenged us to look away from our selfish cravings for
attention, and to anchor our souls to the Rock, in all circumstances.
This is because a wave of false "luv" could take any of us by
surprise, and lead to our submitting to this deceiving spirit without knowing.
Such an overshadowing could be the undoing of many. They have not allowed God to
deal with their hungry souls, so they are looking for alternatives.
The "goodwill" of the false spirit of love will feel VERY, VERY
good! It will be like all your dreams coming true at once. It will fill up every
emotional cavity, and answer your every need. Your cravings and worries and
hurts will go, you will feel fulfilled and on top of the world. You'll say to
yourself - "how could this NOT be God?"
But this is just the bait. Once you are hooked and on the line, the process
of reeling you in will begin, and you'll find yourself having to dance to
another tune. Satan will see you as his puppet, and as long as he keeps you
needy and desperate for emotional "luv" he'll keep you hooked. You
will then begin to do the Devils' bidding.
So - are you ready?
What is most important to you - emotional satisfaction, or obedience to God.
It may just come to a showdown between those two, so you should decide right
here and now which way you will jump. If feeling good about yourself is more
important, then no doubt you will swim with the tide of goodwill and think
nothing of it. You'll be "healed" and so magnanimous towards mankind
that you will do anything for anybody. Good works will spill out of you, for a
time. But the underlying problems have not gone. They will turn inward into
lust, anger, depression, and aggression towards others.
What a horrible fate - but there's a way of escape. Act NOW, to seek God's
will for your life. Decide NOW to obey God, rather than man or feelings. Put God
the Holy Spirit at the centre of your being and focus on His will, not your own
ways. And begin praying (as I do) that in the day of trial, you may not be "taken
away with the wicked". That reminds me of the psalm from which that quote
is taken, and there's no better way to finish by reading it together:
Psalm 28
- Unto thee will I cry, O LORD my rock; be not silent to me: lest, if thou be
silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit
- Hear the voice of my supplications, when I cry unto thee, when I lift up my
hands toward thy holy oracle.
- Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, which
speak peace to their neighbours, but mischief is in their hearts.
- Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of
their endeavours: give them after the work of their hands; render to them their
desert.
- Because they regard not the works of the LORD, nor the operation of his
hands, he shall destroy them, and not build them up.
- Blessed be the LORD, because he hath heard the voice of my supplications.
- The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am
helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise
him.
- The LORD is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed.
- Save thy people, and bless thine inheritance: feed them also, and lift them
up for ever.
